MY MODERN HOLIDAY TABLECLOTH WITH A VINTAGE TOUCH

I am so excited to share with you my Modern Holiday Tablecloth that has a really fun vintage feel to it! I kept things clear and bright with a heavy dose of color. Come take a look! Christmas may be a fun time to urge creativity together with your decor. You can change the entire look and feel of a room by adding festive decorations! Of course, it’s just as wonderful to keep the look uniform in your home and add some pretty bright touches for the holidays.

Whichever route you choose, have fun! If decorating is your thing, then go crazy. If the thought of decorating for the vacations causes you to be anxious, don’t overthink it. There are not any right or wrong thanks to decorating for the holidays! The holidays are about creating those warm, fuzzy memories. And your decorations do not have to be perfect to try to do that!

FIREPLACE CHIMNEY DECOR IDEA

This stylish Christmas coat looks weird and modern, with a whimsical feel. I layered one of my Christmas Lindsay Letters canvases over my new mirror. This beautiful canvas has the lyrics to one of my favorite Nat King Cole Christmas carols. I have had this piece for about 5 years and reuse it every year! He also played center stage on my holiday ledge 2 years ago.

I added some bottle brush trees to fill in the gaps between the art and the edge of the mantel.

I have amassed a great collection of these bottle brush trees over the year. It started even before I got married. I created a beautiful table setting with these trees, some vintage silver, and an antique mirror. Set up in the first condo that I had when I was single, I loved it! Look, my love for decorating goes back a long time! And your decorations do not have to be perfect to try to do that!

MODERN HOLIDAY TABLE

I added my favorite faux garland to the highest of this trendy Christmas mantel. I’m in the “decorating is my jam” column, so creating a fun new look every year is something I look forward to! This year I wanted our vacation home to feel bright and cheerful. I also wanted to let my natural Christmas style shine through. I have always decorated our home with ancient treasures. Items I’ve bought at flea markets and things that remind me of last Christmas.

Last year I tried something different and opted for a copper and blush theme. I loved it at the time, but looking back it was too much. They say hindsight is 20/20, right? So even at the end of the Christmas season last year, I knew I wanted to go back to what I loved and use all my old treasures for our Christmas decorations. Needed more pops of Christmas color!

CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH GARLAND HACK

Now, make certain to see out all of those other talented bloggers sharing their Christmas mantle and vignettes! Now, I LOVE fresh garlands. And I prefer it to the knockoff any day, but it dries in about 24 hours and turns brown. Not good for the interior of the house! So a few years ago I came across this incredibly real faux garland and every year I buy one more when it goes on sale.

Let me tell you ways I took this beautiful garland and made it a touch more magnificent!

I went outside and cut some cedar branches from our trees that line the fence. I cut about 10 small branches (about 8 to 12 inches long) from the back of the tree facing the fence. Then, I weave these branches into artificial wreaths to make them deeper and deeper. Then I added some eucalyptus stems. I like how eucalyptus adds different colors. So the fresh cedar will dry out in a week or so and I’ll cut a little closer to the holidays or when we have guests. It’s so much easier than trying to keep up with a real garland! I also used this garland trick for my vintage modern Christmas table! You can see the impact it had there with my before and after photos!

HOLIDAY TABLE STOCKINGS

This year is the first year in a long time that I have bought new socks. We have used the same assortment of cream knit socks for a few years. But when I saw these interesting and colorful leggings, I fell in love! I even like that they have everyone’s initials on them. The color is the perfect choice to match this modern electric fireplace perfectly. They like the way they set up the fireplace, and it’s a great help for Christmas. My style of the White House! Stay tuned for more of my vintage and modern Christmas home visit in the next 2 weeks. I’m so excited to tell you more about it! I’m even sharing my daughter’s room, all covered for the holidays.
